Something for everyone at Summer Open Studios

 Apr 17, 2015

The Sorting Office will thrown open its doors for its annual Summer Open Studios on June 13 and 14.

This is a fantastic opportunity to see behind the scenes of our thriving designer-maker studios. Meet our 16 artists, watch them at work, take part in demonstrations and, of course, shop for exquisite handcrafted goods and designs.

For the first time the Open Studios will run over two days, opening our doors on Saturday, June 13, from 11am to 5pm and then again on Sunday, June 14, from 11am to 2pm.

There is plenty to see and do at this unique event. As part of the Open Studios there will be a drop-in screen-printing workshop. This will give visitors, both young and old, the opportunity to sample this wonderful artform while screenprinting their own canvas tote bag using bespoke templates created by two of The Sorting Office artists: Textile Artist Claire Vine and Pattern Designer Mariska Parent. There will be a charge of £5 for this informative and fun workshop. Illustrator Lisa-Jean Gardner will also be running a workshop for children, encouraging them to get messy with paints creating colourful scales for her rather large fire-breathing friend!

If shopping is your passion our Open Studios is the perfect event to source unusual, one-of-a-kind goods, from home furnishings, commissioned art work and jewellery to bespoke gowns, glassware and ceramics there really is something for all - even the discerning shopper.

We look forward to welcoming you to our fabulous event.
