Artists showcase products in France

 Dec 15, 2014

Work by our artists is currently on display in a special “pop-up” shop in France.

Our artists and designer-makers have been invited to exhibit and sell their products in the unique boutique-cum-gallery in the centre of Calais, which is being run by our Recreate partners Made In Calais. The initiative is aimed at promoting cross-Channel links with artists and creative hubs.

Ceramacist Sheena Bond, glassware artist Carly Mann, designer Anna Lambert, and textile artists Karen Head and Anita van den Broek have sent over a selection of their products to be featured in the shop. Their work will sit alongside designs and products from the 25-strong Made In Calais artists’ collective.

The Sorting Office Programme manager Peter Davison said:” The invitation to send work over is testament to the high standard of the work of our artists.

“This is a great opportunity for our artists and designer-makers to explore new markets, to see if their work is transportable. It will be interesting to see how it is received by a French audience.”

The Made In Calais pop-up shop runs until the end of January at Premiers Flocons, 6 boulevard Jacquard, Calais.
