Two-Day Pictorial Machine Embroidery Workshop with Linda Miller
Come along with your sewing machine and join me to unpick the mysteries of free Machine Embroidery
Bring along a drawing, picture or a photograph that inspires you. Working with your own sewing machine and using a sumptuous array of threads in a variety of colours and thickness you will learn how to translate your original design into your very own picture of stitches.
The workshop is suitable for all abilities, whether you are new to machine embroidery or a more confident stitcher you will have the opportunity to explore the numerous techniques and textures created by threads and stitch in a relaxed and creative environment.
Bring your own sewing machine and any threads you have all other materials for the workshop will be provided.
The two day workshop price is £120.00
Tea, coffee, biscuits and homemade cake are included in the workshop fee but remember to bring a packed lunch with you.
Important requirements for the workshop – A sewing machine in good working order which is able to drop its feed dog teeth and has a compatible free machine embroidery foot.
The Sorting Office Studios are set in the town centre of Eastleigh, surrounded by numerous shops, including a well-stocked sewing shop alongside local supermarkets and restaurants. There is a selection of hotels – both local and a little further afield to fit all budgets. As well as having free parking spaces the studios also boasts a large, light and airy teaching space; “The Production House”, which has power sockets, tables and a sink.
Linda Miller BA Hons. has been a professional embroiderer since graduating from Winchester school of art in 1988. Her work is successfully exhibited throughout the UK Europe and the USA. Linda regularly holds workshops, and gives slide talks and lectures for Adults, Children and Community groups. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for textiles and her love for Machine Embroidery.
